  • 1 cup vodka chilled
  • 0.5 cup fresh basil leaves roughly chopped
  • 1 inch fresh ginger peeled and sliced thin

  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice for brightness

Equipment

Method

  1. Add the berries, chopped basil, sliced ginger, simple syrup, lemon juice, and vodka to the blender.
  2. Pulse the blender a few times to start breaking down the berries and release their juices, creating a vibrant, colorful mixture.
  3. Blend on high speed until everything is smooth and the mixture is evenly colored and slightly thickened, with no large chunks remaining.
  4. Stop the blender and check the texture—it should be icy and slushy but smooth to the touch.
  5. Pour the mixture into glasses, making sure to distribute the colorful slush evenly.
  6. Serve immediately with a garnish of fresh basil or a berry skewer for a visually appealing finish.

Notes

For a less icy texture, let the mixture sit in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before serving. Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less simple syrup. You can substitute other fresh herbs or fruits to customize the flavor.
